Getting Started with EraNorth

Start with the outcome, not the technology.

EraNorth is an AI consulting and decision workspace for business problems, decisions, projects and opportunities. Tell it what you are trying to achieve, what is happening now and what is getting in the way.

Central idea

Bring EraNorth a problem, decision, project or opportunity. Leave with greater clarity and a practical way forward.

1. Start with the outcome

Tell EraNorth what you need to decide or achieve.

A useful question gives EraNorth enough context to understand the business outcome, not just the topic.

Too broad

“Tell me about project delays.”

More useful

“Our equipment installation project is six weeks behind schedule. Management will not approve additional budget. Help me identify recovery options and recommend the strongest path.”

2. Give EraNorth context

The quality of the analysis improves when the situation is clear.

You do not need perfect wording. Include the facts that shape the decision.

Objective

What outcome are you trying to achieve?

Current situation

What is happening now, and what has changed?

Constraints

What limits the available choices: budget, time, capacity, policy or risk?

Evidence

What numbers, observations or documents are relevant?

People

Who is affected, who decides and who needs to act?

Options already considered

What paths have already been discussed, rejected or attempted?

3. Bring your documents

Use working information when the decision depends on it.

Signed-in users can create or upload supported documents, organise them inside projects and explicitly select a document as context for the next analysis.

Useful document work

  • Summarise what matters for a decision.
  • Identify risks, gaps and unresolved questions.
  • Compare a proposal against business constraints.
  • Turn notes into a structured brief or plan.
  • Ask follow-up questions while the selected document remains in context.

Keep judgement in the loop

  • Use only documents you are authorised to share.
  • Check critical figures and source information.
  • Verify legal, financial, engineering, safety and regulatory decisions with appropriate professionals.
  • Remove document context when it is no longer needed.
4. Work through the decision

Use follow-up questions to deepen the thinking.

The first response is often the start of the work, not the end.

What am I missing?

Expose gaps, assumptions and information that could change the decision.

What are my realistic options?

Separate genuine alternatives from ideas that are not workable under the constraints.

What are the trade-offs?

Understand what each option gains, costs or puts at risk.

Which option is strongest?

Ask for a recommendation and the reasoning behind it.

What are the risks?

Identify failure modes, warning signs and practical controls.

What should I do first?

Translate the recommendation into the next practical action.

5. Turn analysis into action

Move from reasoning into usable professional work.

Continue the analysis into the output you need for execution.

01

Action plans

Turn recommendations into priorities, owners, actions and sequencing.

02

Project plans

Develop scope, milestones, risks, governance and recovery actions.

03

Decision papers

Structure the situation, options, recommendation, risks and decision required.

04

Business cases

Develop the logic, benefits, costs, assumptions, risks and implementation considerations.

05

Saved outputs

Professional users can preserve important final analyses separately from the working conversation.

Professional examples

Ask about the real business situation.

Natural language is enough. EraNorth should recognise the type of analysis required without making you learn special commands.

Decision

“We are considering investing A$180,000 in new equipment. Help me compare the financial and operational case against continuing with the current process.”

Operations

“Our lead time has increased from five days to nine days. Help me identify likely causes and build an investigation plan.”

Project

“This project is four weeks late and the budget cannot increase. What recovery options should I evaluate?”

Automation

“Five people spend several hours each week preparing the same reports. Help me determine whether this should be automated.”

Strategy

“Revenue is growing but margins are falling. Help me work through the strategic options.”

Document

“Review the selected proposal. What should management challenge before approving it?”

Usage and document capacity details

Free access currently provides up to five successful analyses per day and refreshes automatically. Free accounts can keep up to 10 active documents and upload up to 10 files for the account, with a 2 MB maximum per upload. Professional accounts can keep up to 50 active documents and upload up to 1,000 files per calendar year, with a 5 MB maximum per upload. Professional working capacity is significantly higher and is managed by fair-use safeguards that refresh automatically.

Trust & professional use

Use EraNorth to improve judgement, not replace it.

EraNorth distinguishes available context from assumptions and helps expose important gaps. Consequential decisions still require appropriate human judgement and current authoritative information.

Your context matters

Projects, selected documents and ongoing analyses help EraNorth work with the situation you are actually dealing with.

Evidence before assumption

Where EraNorth knowledge is relevant, references can be surfaced. Where evidence is incomplete, treat assumptions and gaps as part of the decision.

Designed for decisions

Ask about options, trade-offs, risks, consequences and next actions, not only background information.

Built for ongoing work

Signed-in work can develop through conversations, projects, documents and saved outputs rather than disappearing after one interaction.

FAQ

Common questions.

The important part is the business problem. The technology can stay in the background.

Do I need an account?

You can browse the public website without an account. Google Sign-In gives you a personal workspace with saved analyses, projects and documents.

Do I need special wording?

No. Describe what you are trying to achieve, what is happening now and what constraints matter. Natural professional language is enough.

Do I need to use commands?

No. EraNorth is designed to understand normal consulting questions automatically. Existing advanced shortcuts remain available for experienced users through the optional help function, but they are not required.

Can I ask follow-up questions?

Yes. Ask what you are missing, compare options, identify risks, challenge a recommendation or turn the result into an action plan.

Can other users see my workspace documents?

Workspace documents are associated with the signed-in account. A document is included in an analysis only when that user explicitly selects it as working context.

What happens when I reach a usage allowance?

EraNorth will tell you that the current allowance has been reached and when access will refresh. Professional provides significantly higher working capacity than Free.

Are EraNorth responses final professional advice?

No. EraNorth supports analysis and decision-making. Important engineering, safety, legal, financial, medical or regulatory decisions should be verified with the appropriate qualified professional and current authoritative information.

Start with the real work

What are you trying to decide, solve, improve or deliver?

Describe the situation in your own words. EraNorth will help you structure the problem and work toward a practical next step.
